How did John Krasinski meet Emily Blunt?
Emily and John first crossed paths in 2008 while dining at the same restaurant. Emily later called their introduction a “sad, lame story” during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2018.
“I was in a restaurant, [John] was in the restaurant. I was sitting with a mutual friend… and my friend, Gray goes, ‘Oh my God, that’s my friend John,’ and that was it. [John] was sitting with our friend, Justin Theroux and he abandoned Justin and came over to us. He just stood there and made me laugh.”
Not long after this initial meeting, Emily and John went on their first date, though it wasn’t a typical dinner-and-a-movie.
Instead, John took Emily to a shooting range. The Office actor explained the unusual date choice when he spoke with Conan O’Brien in 2012.
“On our first date, I decided, ‘I’m gonna really hit the gas and bring her to a gun range. I think that I was so sure that I would never end up with her… that I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna blow it right away and then that way you don’t feel bad,’” John said.

The two got engaged in August 2009, about a year after they first met.
Emily and John then tied the knot on July 10, 2010, in a romantic private ceremony held at George Clooney’s estate on Lake Como in Italy.
Since then, they’ve welcomed two daughters: Hazel, born in February 2014, and Violet, born in June 2016.
