Australian-British actress Naomi Watts has released a book on menopause titled Dare I Say It: Everything I Wish I’d Known about Menopause.
The book marks Naomi’s first venture into writing and is a personal account of her experience with menopause. The Oscar nominee began experiencing menopause symptoms at just 36 years old. An age much earlier than most women, who typically begin the transition between ages 45 and 55.

In the book, she aims to address the silence and stigma that often surround menopause. As it is a natural stage of life that affects millions of women globally. “Women have had to suffer in silence and shame for too long about the changes they undergo during menopause, with little access to information, support, or even much of an open conversation,” Naomi told People magazine.
Dare I Say It shares Naomi’s personal journey. It includes conversations with friends, expert insights, and a foreword by Dr Mary Claire Haver. Furthermore, she meant for the book to be a resource for women navigating menopause, offering practical advice and comfort.
Naomi wrote on Instagram, “I hope this book can be a funny and approachable guide to this time in our lives — like a cozy chat with your girlfriends that gets you all the information you need to know about this chapter.”

In addition to her newly released book, Naomi has been a vocal advocate for menopause awareness for years. Furthermore, in 2022, she founded her wellness brand, Stripes Beauty, which focuses on menopausal wellness. Through her brand and her writing, Naomi is committed to breaking down the taboos surrounding menopause. She encourages open conversations about this often-overlooked phase of life.
